Proud to be British

On 27th November 2014, the government issued a press release publishing further guidance for all UK schools on the promotion of British values to ensure children leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.

Since 2011, all schools have been assessed on their ability to 'actively promote' the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Great Walstead School's Vision and Core Values embrace British Values as par for the course and R.J. Mowll, our founder, would be proud of our efforts to uphold the ideals that he held so dear:

  • Respect to be shown to all people, regardless of race, creed, class, gender or circumstance.
  • All children to receive an education that promotes individual talents, whatever they may be.
  • All children to be educated in the 'great outdoors' with a variety of cultural experiences and hands-on hard work.
